About The Living Reef on Daydream Island
Immerse yourself in one of Australia’s most unique experiences as you make unforgettable connections with the amazing animals of the Living Reef. The free form coral lagoons that course through the resort are home to more than 140 species of marine fish, 82 species of coral and a range of invertebrate species. So while you’re cruising to breakfast, you’ll see Bruce the lemon shark cruising the reef, clown fish playing hide and seek, and stingrays gliding gracefully across the coral floor.
A team of marine biologists living on the island care for the animals around the clock, and love nothing better than having guests join them in a range of interactive experiences, such as feeding baby stingrays, or learning about the fascinating biological processes of the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest living organism.
